TAFKIK ACT1: THREADED PATH… INSTALLATION – PLASTER MOULDINGS
This project is based on a deep anthropological study. Through graphology, it pays tribute to the entire chain of craftspeople working in the shadows. The engraved writing is inspired by embroidered signs on the back of each Chechia called the “Nichen” (trademark of the master craftsman). Through this work, an Arabic calligraphic font was given birth, inspired by the linear and refined shape of Nichens. Thanks to this unique font, new Nichens and labels, inscribed on a rosette, have been created for every craftsperson... “I felt the need to immortalize the memory of these people and their work with the idea of the stamp”.
